White Shark day trip includes:

m	Breakfast on arrival
m	Boat trip to view and cage dive with the great white sharks

m	5am to 6am Cape Town pick up if required. Transfer to Gansbaai.
m	8am arrival at our crew house and meeting time for self drive clients.

m	Spend 2 1/2 to 4 hours on sea depending on the conditions and shark activity

Duration :

Please keep your entire day available for this tour. On busy days we might run two tours resulting in a 8am and 12pm launch time. We determine the meeting time a day or two before the trip.

Number of divers on the boat :

Baraccuda is surveyed to take 30 passengers but only takes out 21 clients per trip.

Shark Diving Unlimited is a family run great white shark cage diving operation with over 10 years of experience. Their crew is very knowledgeable and will do their best to take you the shark lover out for your dream encounter with the Great White Shark.

Shark Diving Unlimited have worked with the BBC, Animal Planet, National Geographic, Discovery Channel and countless photo-journalists to create visually stunning images of great white sharks. Shark Diving Unlimited has also been the company of choice for Brad Pitt, Leonardo Di Caprio, the King of Jordan and HRH Prince Harry!

Gansbaai, 2 hours from Cape Town, is the great white capital of the world! We'll arrange transport. Trips are weather dependent and approximately 4 hours. Your launch time will be confirmed well in advance before your trip. Meet for breakfast, then a picnic lunch and soft drinks on board. Towels and dive equipment provided & hot shower facilities at the crew house.

You do notneed to be a qualified diver to enter the cage as we use a simple breath hold technique. All your diving equipment is on board.

Despite our 99.99% success rate, these are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed . However in the unlikely event that we don't find sharks we will offer you a free trip!
We do not feed the sharks.

In 2003 Shark Diving Unlimited played an ingtegral role in a joint MCM and WCS, (Wildlife Conservation Society) great white shark satellite tagging project. One female shark named Nicole suprised everyone by making an epic migration from Gansbaai, to Western Australia and back again!

At the Shark Diving Unlimited crew house, you will be able to buy some shark souvenirs that includes tshirts, caps, DVDs and more. As an alternative we can also recommend that you stop at The Great White Adventure Centre. This is the first building as you enter Gansbaai. At the centre you can buy underwater disposable cameras, rent an underwater digital camera and more. This shop has a huge selection of white shark souvenirs for you to remember your day by. One souvenir that is only available from Shark Diving Unlimited though is of course your day trip DVD. The DVD can be purchased after the trip at a cost of R350-00.

Barracuda, Shark Diving Unlimited's working platform, is a 12m lee cat, which has been custom built for white shark cage diving. Her 6-man cage, utilised deck space, top deck, and much more make her the ideal vessel to dare the waters with these amazing and extremely fascinating animals.

She is well equipped with all necessary diving kit, SAMSA approved safety kit (includes 2 15 man life rafts), and state of the art navigational instruments. With dual 200 hp v6 Yamaha motors and a well-balanced hull to ensure a comfortable day out whether at anchor or travelling out to the island.

Barracuda comfortably carries up to 30 clients.

The cage is a 6 man steel cage with purpose designed round ends to make the shape safer for the sharks and also to give the people on the end a good perspective of the side views to watch the sharks coming. 4 to 6 divers at one time in the cage depending on the size of the group.

The dive gear supplied is a 7 ml wetsuit (ranging from sizes childrens size 8 year, adult small to 3 XL) with booties and hoodie plus mask. We make use of the breath hold method and this has proven to be the best method. Weight belt is also supplied.

Scuba diving is available on request. Scuba divers will go in the cage last and will only be able to do so on presentation of a valid scuca certification card. Shark Diving Unlimited tries to keep the cage diving as natural as possible at all times.
