Owing to massive negative media publicity over the years, the great white shark has become one of the most maligned, misunderstood, even hated, animals on our fragile planet.

Shark At The Boat

The great white has been pursued, hunted and indiscriminately slaughtered over the years, to the point where many species are endangered.

View From The Shark Cage

If we can dispel some of the hype and myth, and the fear which surrounds these magnificent creatures, and even if through our commitment we only introduce some element of objective perspective to the people whom we come into contact with, then we have at least made some contribution to maintaining the natural balance in at least one ecosystem in our communal home, earth.

Kim Maclean pioneered white shark cage diving in 1992 after having worked on the research side for a number of years. Shark Lady Adventures has now opened an educational center and Padi dive school in Hermanus.

Taking The Bait

Shark Lady Adventures requires you to have at least an open water one diving qualification to dive in a cage. All divers will be screened by the divemaster and we will require your dive number. Preference will be given to qualified divers. We cannot guarantee non qualified divers permission to enter the cage this will depend on the discretion of the qualified dive master on board and the relevant water conditions on that day.

Shark With The Dive Cage

Your own safety is our concern & surface viewing from the boat is truly spectacular as the great white shark is a surface feeder.
